Upgrade Thursday Returns August 11

Upgrade Thursday, a creative virtual experience hosted on selected Thursday evenings by the Christian Church in Georgia, returns August 11 through October 27 with an exciting lineup of speakers and programs. Check out the program brochure here.

• August 11 – Welcoming Refugees: It’s a Journey Not a Destination, featuring Georgia Disciples Refugee Team and Atlanta refugee agency Inspiritus

• August 25 – Child Abuse: The ABCs of Prevention, led by Rev. Debi Acree and Rev. Dr. Diane Bales

• September 8 – What’s Next? The Future of the Church – and the Church of the Future, featuring Disciples clergy panel Rev. Dr. Nathan Brown, Rev. Cheryl Cloar, Rev. Dr. Cynthia Hale, Rev. Joel Tucker, and Rev. Richard Williams

• September 22 – Sacred Storytelling, led by retired Professor of Preaching Rev. Dr. Mary Donovan Turner

• October 13 – Innovative Ministry: Change Is Your Friend, featuring new church pastors Pastor Chris Carter of The Table, in Warner Robins, Rev. Orlando Scott of AMPLIFY Christian Church, in Snellville, and Rev. Peter (Seokil) Yoon, of Story Forest Christian Church in Lawrenceville.
