NW District Disciple Men's Rally

The Disciple Men of the Northwest District of the Region of Georgia gathered on September 22, 2007 for a Rally.  Musical entertainment was provided by the Marietta First praise band SoulFire who had everyone up and singing.

A great group of men were present from among district churches including Peachtree Christian, Sandy Springs, Cherry Log, Decatur First, Fayetteville Community, Marietta First, Peachtree Corners Christian, and all the way from Alabama, Phenix City Christian Church.

In addition to a welcome from Joe Austin, NW District Regional Representative and an innovative and enthusiastic cheer led by Will Perdue, the men heard a great message from Rev. Randy Barnhart of Peachtree Christian Church.

In his message Randy pointed out that "Most of the really outrageous ideas in the Bible come from God!"  For example, telling a great and effective evangelist like Phillip to head out into the wilderness on a desert road.  Randy then had everyone laughing as he pointed out Phillip's outrageous behavior as he runs up to the chariot of a high government official.  Picture, Randy said, running up to the limo in a government motorcade!  But because Phillip obeyed God's voice and did something Nutty, the Eunuch was converted.  Randy pointed out that much ministry goes unfulfilled today because good church people don't hear and obey God's call.  He also pointed out that what the Eunuch needed was a guide to the scripture.  Randy told the group about some of the guides that molded his life and challenged the men to be guides in their Christian life.

The program was followed by a huge Bar-B-Que lunch from Williamson BBQ along with a hefty helping of fellowship.
