Christmas In July
The Fellowship Committee of Central in Augusta planned
a wonderful evening of dining and entertainment on July 25th. We
celebrated Christmas in July with a traditional type of holiday dinner
featuring pork and dressing, green beans, yams, salad, bread, and a
variety of cakes (caramel, red velvet, and yellow with chocolate
frosting). The Fellowship Hall as well as many of the attendees were
suitably decorated/clad in traditional holiday styles. We celebrated not
just with fun and frivolity, but acknowledged that any time is a good
time to Praise God for the Perfect Gift--His Son--Jesus! We blended the
traditional religious and the secular aspects of Christmas. The
decorations included a tree, tables with suitable colors and themes,
seasonal carols (religious and secular) were sung, gifts were given to
each child by a special guest--one taking a break from his duties at the
North Pole-- Santa--alias Sam Willard. Gifts of seashell
ornaments--honoring both the summer and Christmas were given to each
attendee. Many attendees also won door prizes. Many of the attendees
wore Christmas colors and/or clothing (such as sweater vests/ties and
the like). Everyone enjoyed this non-traditional celebration during the
heat of the summer.

Celebrating the Peacher
Family
Celebrating the Peacher family at Central: Nile
Peacher was Honored by being named an Elder Emeritus for Central
Christian.
Liz Peacher, his wife, was named Woman of the Year at
the Mother Daughter Banquet. Karen Boyd (President of the CWF)
congratulates Liz on this honor bestowed upon her by her Church Family.
The Peachers have given so much to Central. They have
been among our most dedicated supporters for years. We have all been
Blessed to know them and Walk our Christian Walk at least in part with
them.
May God Continue to Bless them in Mighty Ways--and All
in Their Family, too!
Sincerely Christy Gilliland
