| In the midst of a long hot summer we
bring you greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. Ministry by the
Christian Church in Georgia continues as we touch congregations and help
them become what god has called them to be. Many of the activities now
are the planning phases for events that will happen in the fall.
Regional Assembly is coming as are Women’s Retreat and Youth-a-Pa-Looza.
Church camping is in full swing and young lives are being touched with
God’s love through that ministry. We are helping congregations in their
searches to discover new ministers. In addition, we are discovering how
to function and do our ministry with a leaner staff and at less cost.
God is at work within the Christian Church in Georgia.
We are writing to you because we know you are one who
would be interested in hearing how the work God is going on. Your
partnership and support through prayer, interest, volunteering and
financial assistance makes the ministry possible and we cannot express
our thanks enough.
 This
year we have encountered a situation which we have been putting off and
putting off, but can’t put away any longer. The air conditioning
units for the Regional Office have finally bit the dust. For more
than three years we have been limping along getting them recharged each
year but we can no longer do that. One of the compressor units is over
20 years old. The newest unit is 11 years old. The cooling coils in the
air handlers are both leaking badly. They are simply beyond repair
again. As temperatures daily reach into the middle 90’s here in Macon,
Air conditioning is a real need.
According to the bids we have received and the advice
we been given the cost of replacing units and fixing the AC is going to
be about $4200 - $4300. This presents the problem as we don’t
have those funds available. Summer time is our time of leanest income
and highest expenses. The available funds are used or spoken for.
Would you help us with a special gift to assist in
getting the air conditioning fixed? We need to restore more bearable
working conditions here at the office. If you would give somewhere
between $100 and $500 to assist us, we can get this fixed and continue
to work on the ministries we have in our budget. I want to express to
you our great thanks and appreciation for whatever you could do to
assist in meeting this need.
