Reverend John M. Novikoff, Sr.
John was educated at Biola Bible College and Phillips University,
where he received at BA in Humanities. John received his Masters of Divinity
in Pastoral Care from Phillips Theological Seminary in 1963.
While in Seminary, John provided a pastoral ministry to a small
rural church on an Indian Reservation in North Central Oklahoma as well as providing
Literacy Training to adult students.
John served as Pastor of First Christian Church in Jones, Oklahoma
from 1962 until 1965 and also served as a Youth Camp Director. His next position
was Associate Pastor and Christian Education Director at University Place Christian
Church in Oklahoma City from 1965 until 1967.
In 1967 John joined the U.S. Army, serving as Battalion Chaplain
and then Brigade Chaplain from 1967 until 1972. He then served as Hospital
Chaplain before retiring in 1991 with the rank of Colonel.
From 1976 until 1991, John served as Section Director for Tidelands
Community Mental Health of Savannah's Alcohol and Drug Section.
John speaks Russian and some German.
He presently serves as Project Minister for Russia and Armenia
with the Mission for Biblical Literacy.
