Mission trip to Russia
A letter from John Novikoff
Hi Fellow Disciples
Just a short note to let you know the Mission for
Biblical Literacy will again sponsor a short term mission to Russia on
June 25-July 8, 2007. This year we will go to an orphanage north of
Tambov which is about 270 miles south of Moscow. We will provide a VBS
type ministry to about 80-100 kids (or more) as we have done for the
past 5 years at various orphanages.
Though most of the team departs from Savannah,
Georgia, we welcome any Disciple to come along. The cost is $2400
depending upon the point of departure and one will need to provide a
valid passport and visa. More information is available by calling me at
(404) 806-1485 or (912) 308-8277 (cell). A planning meeting will take
place at the end of April.
No Russian language requirement necessary since we
will also have Russian team members who speak English and who will be
part of the teaching team. But a heart full of the Lord's love and the
passion to make your witness is required.
The Mission for Biblical Literacy has been providing
ministry in Russia, Siberia, and the Russian Far East since 1990. The
work was started by the late Dr. Roger N Carstensen, a Disciple minister
and Old Testament professor. Dr. Carstensen taught at Phillips
University and later became the president of the Christian College of
Georgia.
If you know of any who desire to take this trip we
would love to have them come along with us.
In Christ,
John Novikoff, President
