Clergy Retreat
Tuesday and Wednesday, February 1-2, 2005
Camp Christian Conference Center
Thirty Georgia clergy
participated in an outstanding “Voices” retreat at Camp Christian
Conference Center on February 1-2. With the gifts of leadership of
Claudia Highbaugh, Chaplain of Harvard Divinity School, participants
reflected on ways in which we hear God’s call in Scripture and in life
experience, and how we respond to that call in our work. As “people of
the table”, we considered who joins us at our “tables”, and who is
excluded. Time was devoted to reflect on how we embrace and encourage
one another and all of God’s children.
Voices, an annual retreat
sponsored by Christian College of Georgia, is a special time for clergy
to renew relationships with colleagues and to simply relax and enjoy
being together in a place which as become so special over the years.
Worship and music were led
by Timothy Spraggins and Bill Thompson of First Christian, Atlanta.
Singing “We are standing on Holy Ground” everyone was reminded that “our
holy ground is in the midst of everyday, ordinary life.” Voices is an
important reminder to all of Who and What is at the heart of ministry
and service: Jesus Christ and His Gospel.
