We will gather for another camp workday on Thursday, May 25th at 9am and will work till 3pm or so.  Bring some simple type food to share for lunch.   There are still many tasks that need to be completed including more weed eating, raking, blowing, cutting up limbs/moving them, pressure washing and general cleaning of bathrooms, restrooms and Lavery Kitchen. Please bring rakes, weed eaters, pressure washers, blowers and any other tools you think you might need.

Thanks to all those who were at camp on April 29th, May 6th and other days to help get camp ready.  Several churches were represented on those days: Lawrenceville First sent Libby Ballew, her three daughters, Rod Baker, Joey Baker, Rev. Jay White, Ashlyn Parks and Marilyn Parks; Sandy Springs sent Caroline Money Grant and her son; Pam Van Dusen represented the region; Terressa Ewing Anderson represented New Hope; John Anderson came from Augusta Central; Will Perdue came from Peachtree Corners; Medie Still traveled from Guyton; Jimmy Walker came from Liberty in Newnan; Peachtree Young adults included Dakota Brown, Zach Brown and Holly Lane; Watkinsville First had Amy & Doug Baxter, their girls, Kristen Finnerty Bays and her boys attend; Steve Shelnutt and his son represented Winder First; Tommy, our camp manager was also there.

Many tasks were completed including: Inventories for Woodland rooms and porch, Peachtree gathering area and porch , Lavery Hall and the Kitchen, the craft room, recreational supplies, first aid supplies; Cleaning and inspection of several cabins, the Director’s Bungalow, a couple of the Villas, replacement of hooks and eyes on cabin doors, blowing pine straw off the cabins and other buildings in cabin area, blowing leaves and clearing paths, constructing the platforms outside cabins 8 & 9, taking down shower curtains, weed eating along the edge of the lake and the labyrinth and work was begun on getting the volleyball court ready for the summer

We want to thank Sandersville First for donating cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, comet, pine sol, cleaning rags, fans, charcoal, lighter fluid, weed killer, ant killer, and many other needed items.   Lawrenceville First through their “Giving Tree” program is donating the summer camp water bottles, life jackets, playground balls, basketballs, nerf footballs, wiffle balls, a volley ball, two new swings and 4 benches with arms and backs.  We appreciate the Disciple Men buying the materials to make the decks on Cabin 8 & 9. Thanks so much.

Some items on our wish list are Clorox, light bulbs (60 watt), clear vanity light bulbs, daylight bulbs. ant killer, wasp spray.  We also need some used twin fitted bottom sheets to protect mattresses in the cabins at the end of the camp season.
