Dear Friends of Outdoor Ministry in Georgia:

The Christian Church in Georgia summer camp season at Camp Christian and Camp Kicklighter conclude each year in July. What a blessing it is to serve so many eager to learn and experience God. The blessings continue as we will serve even more individuals at our year-round Camp Christian Conference Center this year.

Over the fields and forests of our camps, and echoing across waters, come the sound of adults, children, and youth enjoying the opportunity to be in the natural outdoors. More importantly, in the small groups, one-on-one encounters, and at the worship center the voice of God speaks. Conversations echo about faith and decisions in response to God. People’s lives continue to be changed by their experiences at camp. Throughout the church, clergy and lay leaders point to camp experiences as pivotal in their faith pilgrimage.

We are preparing for camp and conferences next summer and our struggle is to continue those faith encounters in the shadow of increasing financial questions. One way is to open the Friendship Circle to many people who care about the camp ministries of the Christian Church in Georgia. These are friends of camp and of campers, who give individually and in groups to enable the camp ministry to continue strong and effective. We invite you to make a gift to the Friendship Circle of the Christian Church in Georgia to benefit our camping program.

This year we are opening a new opportunity for individuals and groups. Each month we pay over $4000 in mortgage payments for improvements and additions made to Camp Christian which allow us to hold our year-round retreat and conference ministries. We believe there are individuals, Sunday school classes, men’s groups or women’s groups who would be excited to take on the challenge of one mortgage payment. If we find 12 groups or individuals who do this, we ensure the quality of ministry and facilities at the camp. If this interests you, please contact one of us to arrange a gathering to invite others to join you in adopting a month.
